The Idea Collective at MOTAT is a multi-dimensional installation, space, and environment designed to stimulate, challenge, and inspire visitors to engage with innovation. It is not a conventional museum exhibition, but rather a dynamic, evolving, collaborative project that is based at MOTAT. Celebrating New Zealand’s vibrant innovation culture, the Idea Collective brings together a diverse set of innovators, artists, designers, and technologists, to create exciting and creative displays and experiences.
Shea worked with Rawstorne studios to curate the artworks and installations, pairing New Zealand innovators with artists and designers to illuminate the activity of innovation, ideation, creation and collaboration. Some of the innovators and artists involved included: Think & Shift, Eat My Lunch, Generation Zero, Hivemind, Mohiomaps, Cinzah Merkens, Hubbub, Milarky & Dside, Ross Liew, Brogen Averill, Aaron Glasson, Celeste Byers, Chris Berthelsen and Puck Murphy. We also developed a social media strategy to support the project.
